This retro timeless ticking stripe is such a wonderful fabric, it has such a warmth to it, and when you add burlap, it's just that much better! The ticking is sold as black, but it is not jet black, it is more of a charcoal black. Computers are all different so I try and describe it as well for color.
This is a double layered valance with burlap and ticking fabric. The burlap has that burlap smell but over time dissipates.
***If you plan to order more later please note that the fabrics may not be from the same bolt if you order at different times. They're can be slight variance in color and texture on the ticking and the burlap.
This is NOT machine washable: keep dusted for many years wear

As a rule 2 times fullness is the least amount of fullness you would want to get a nice look.
So this window valance works great for most single windows. You can order 2 for double windows and shear them together on same rod
Burlap and cotton ticking are perfectly imperfect there may be nubs and a random color threads running through them adding to the natural imperfections. In addition, the ticking has one seam allowing it to be 78" wide, the seam hides easily with the stripe and gathers
I have my burlap cut leaving a manufactured edge to help with fraying which is also the nature of burlap...Also on some occasions I will put mod podge on ends to keep from fraying if the manufactured edge is lacking. Please don't be alarmed if you see an occasional little strand... I do close all seams tightly to alleviate raveling
